Will GTA 6 Be On PS4?

Everyone’s super excited for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), set to launch on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. But if you’re still rocking a PS4, you’re probably wondering: will GTA 6 come to your console? Right now, it looks like a big no, at least when the game first drops, and maybe never.

GTA 6 Hardware Demand

Rockstar Games has said GTA 6 is built for newer consoles like the PS5. The game’s huge world, based on a modern Vice City, has super detailed graphics, tons of characters, and smooth gameplay that needs the PS5’s powerful tech. The PS4 is just too old to handle it.

Even GTA 5, which came out years ago, can feel slow on PS4 with long loading times and less fancy visuals. Making GTA 6 work on PS4 would mean cutting out a lot of cool stuff, which Rockstar doesn’t want to do. Also it would be unfair to the older-gen players and would destroy expectations of players.

GTA 6 on PS4? Unlikely but..

There’s a tiny chance Rockstar might bring GTA 6 to PS4 later, like they released GTA 5 on PC 2 years later!

PS4 is getting outdated and GTA 6 is a massive, expensive game, it’s unlikely. If it happens, it could be years away, maybe 2027, and probably a simpler version.

For now, PS4 players can enjoy GTA Online’s updates or start saving for a PS5, which is getting cheaper. GTA 6 is a next-gen game, so if you want to dive into Vice City’s wild world, it might be time to upgrade.

GTA 5 Enhanced – The Latest Comparison

The Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced edition, also called the Expanded and Enhanced version, launched on PC on March 4, 2025. This free upgrade brought next-gen features from the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions to PC players, including sharper 4K visuals at 60 FPS, ray-traced shadows, faster load times with improved textures, and new GTA Online content like Hao’s Special Works for vehicle tweaks.

It makes Los Santos look and feel more alive, with better audio like Dolby Atmos support for immersive gunfights and chases. However, with the latest release of GTA 5 Enhanced, more problems came. Some PC players weren’t able to play the Enhanced version since it requires a pretty strong PC
